Andhalgaon – In a tragic incident, two individuals lost their lives in a head-on collision between two two-wheelers on Shirur Chowphula Road in Nagargaon (Shirur) on Friday night. The accident occurred around 9 PM.
The victims have been identified as Mahadev Bhagwan Shelar (43) and Anuj Shivaji Gaikwad (24). Hemant Nandkumar Shelar (41), a resident of Nagargaon taluka Shirur, reported the incident to the Shirur police station.
According to the police, Hemant Shelar arrived at the scene to find both riders—Mahadev on a bike with the registration number MH42AZ3539 and Anuj on a Honda Shine with the registration number MH12NR6226—lying unconscious on the road. Bystanders and the complainant rushed them to a hospital in rural Nhavare, where doctors declared both individuals dead on arrival.
The investigation into the accident is being led by Police Sub-Inspector Abhijit Pawar under the supervision of Police Inspector Jotiram Gunjwate. Further details are awaited as the inquiry progresses.
